Insuring the Caravan Contents. Why?

For a number of years now I have not included "contents" cover when I insure the caravan (other than damage to the actual awning.)

This is because my home insurance Contents Policy covers all our personal belongings, away from home as well. Every time I renew my caravan insurance all the insurers try to add contents which just increases the premiums. I refuse to pay because I am damned sure I won't get paid out twice, if I ever made a claim!

How many just pay what the insurer asks for, including contents, without checking to see if their home policy is adequate. What do other do?

Don't insure for contents, as you say it's mostly covered by household insurance.
