Interior caravan lights above front bunks

Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone could help. We have an Abbey impression 500GTS special edition model.

Recently we had the caravan serviced with nothing to report. However last bank holiday when we went away in the van, both interior lights at the front of the caravan stopped working. We have two spot lights underneath these which work fine, they work off the battery, but the two other lights(which you work by pulling a chord) work off the mains electric.

Anyway a man on site( who is an electrician) came and had a look. He took the light fitting apart and confirmed that there is no power going to either lights. How is this so? Could it be a faulty connection?

Is it something that would be easy to fix, or would it need a specialist to attend to it?

Thanks

Hi Karen

First of all check to see if there is a separate master switch for the two 240v lights in addition to the individual pull cords.

Our Abbey has a switch on each light fitting and a master dimmer switch which is situated in the front corner underneath the overhead locker.

If all switches are on and the lights still appear to be faulty it is imperative that you have your electrics checked by a qualified electrician before using the caravan for your own safety.
