Internet connection

Hi,

We are new to motorhome holidays and are hoping to travel in Spain and Portugal this summer. Can anyone please advise on the best (and cheapest) way to get internet connection. We will only be in each country for a couple of weeks so don't really want to have a contract for a mobile connection.

The cheapest way is to park outside of a McDonalds with wireless enabled on your computer.

The best option is to seek out campsites which have WiFi. OK the price will vary but many options you buy time so you can spread that use over several days. It does of course depend on how much use you want to make of it. I think people get to hung up on the cost aspect of spending a few euros for internet use and not think a second time about spending _20 in the bar for a couple of drinks!

I agree with David. A lot of sites have free wifi which is brilliant but if you have to pay 4 EUR for an hour if you are only receiving or sending emails you probably get 2/3 days of doing this.

There are plenty of sites with free or very cheap wi-fi in Spain and Portugal and the quality is improving all the time. Look for it in site handbooks

Forgot to mention - many towns have free wi-fi zones in the streets too. Lookout for signs on walls and lamp posts.
