Would like to go over to Ireland for a week or so. Love the Irish music and a huge fan of the Dubliners type of songs. Anybody any ideas of a site that would suit this with good scenery and somewhere for the daughter to play (11) Thanks in advance.

Try here for sites in Ireland http://www.camping-ireland.ie/ County Cork or County Kerry would be your best bet. The West of Ireland is the prettiest but also wetter! The roads are slower than England so build this in to your timings. If you want any more help reply

The pubs in Cahersiveen have different musicians each night through the summer. And people are asked to join in and sing or have a go!

This site is quite basic, but good and clean. Mortimer is a mine of local knowlege as well, he will know where the music is and is into walking so knows all the best places and if you want a boat trip to the islands he'll get you the best trip and deal. Oh yeah , the back for to the site is a scene to die for.

Before you have a look at the web site be sure to have you sound turned on - http://www.campinginkerry.com/visitors.htm The site is Mannix Point, but book ealy for the festival as a lot of musiscians stay there I believe and play late into the night at times on site.

Cheers Cris. Had a good look at the site and the festival. Looks brilliant. Was checking ferries and have realised that the date of the festival clashes with my 6 day orienteering in Scotland (event happens every two years). Cannot believe that. Will try for Ireland next year or maybe another week of the holidays.

We went after the festival and there was music every night around the town. "Mortimer" knows whats going on and where if I'm fit by summer and we have another van its on our list of places to go.

The south of Ring of Kerry has some of the most stunning beaches and views. Just the water is a little chilly ;-)

Best ferry deals were through CC for Ireland.

Did have a look for ferries through the club but came back with no results. Can't understand that. Living in South Shields-believe me we know about chilly water!
