I have recently purchased a second hand van, (lunar clubman 475 (1991)) Can't wait to use it at the end of August, also can't wait to get out of the "I need to buy" stage!! because I have had a swan neck tow bar fitted to my car I have purchased a second hand Alko stabiliser as I've read that it is difficult to fit the bracket to a swan neck if I wanted to use the more traditional stabiliser bar. The thing thats niggling me is that having read the downloads from the alko website, my existing coupling head does rotate 360 deg. Does this mean that the alko is useless to me?? When I purchased the van the seller did say it had an alko chassis tho. Any advice on the correct stabiliser would be appreciated. Many thanks David

Just had an alko stabiliser fitted at my local service centre, and it seems to be working fine and not rotating on the tow ball contrary to the info on the alko website?

David, I think you are a little confused. They were refereing to the old type Peak and BB hitches which could be turned upside down i.e the hitch handle facing downwards. I don't think any caravan supplied since the early 80's or earlier has been fitted with one.
