Isabella Shadow sun canopy pole ‘foot plates’?

We bought a new 400 canopy & used it on our trip to the Lakes last week & we’re on a hard standing, the wind was a bit ‘windy’ & pulled one of the guy line pegs out so the pole was wobbling about. I used the spiral type gravel pegs. So, I’m wondering what’s best to secure the legs?
Trouble is, the bottom of the poles are a particular shape.
Anyone had any experience of the Isabella Shadow Canopy?

Many years experience; not sure I understand your problem though. My Shadow pegs are the massive ones that came with it, plus three more I purchased, hard to credit anything pulls these out?

In windy conditions I put two guys on each pole, one to tension outwards [90 degrees to van] each corner, one to tension longways. For the centre I place the two guys at 45 degrees to the sheet front edge so there is 90 degrees between each of these two guys.
In addition I place the pole bases outwards so the pole slopes with the top nearer the van than the base.
I rarely fix the bases, but have sometimes done so with a rock peg through the plastic foot's loop; make sure the pole base is further out from the van than its height, as no way if it throws a pole don't I want it to hit the van side. Seen elsewhere the result of that.

In really blustery conditions I take it down, more because I can't stand the noise and buffeting. Quite typically just remove poles but leave pegs & guys in place and put the cloth in the car to readily put the Shadow up when things are calmer.

You could get some ratchet straps and put them internally over any cross members ( sorry don’t know the configuration of your canopy) and then peg down with some very decent pegs. Did this on the inside of a seasonally pitched awning.
However, I think that many sun canopies ( dont know about yours) don’t stand up to wind conditions and are best taken down

I use two of these on our awning. Similar application as described by Mel. The pegs have never pulled out !

We had the same canopy and to secure we used "marque pegs" but storm pegs would be just as good. If high winds are forecast it is best to take down the canopy otherwise you my end up with the caravan being damaged by the awning rail.

I have the big red pegs that came with it but didn’t use them to be honest. I used my steel gravel pegs as I didn’t think I’d even get the red ones in. ( It was hard enough getting the steel ones in).
I’ll give them a go next time.

Our Rachet straps were 4 for a tenner from Aldi. 😉

You could get some ratchet straps and put them internally over any cross members ( sorry don’t know the configuration of your canopy) and then peg down with some very decent pegs. Did this on the inside of a seasonally pitched awning.

I would get some of these straps if we decide to get a canopy or Fiamma Caravanstore they look great and very reasonable price
