Isle of Wight

Hey Ann

Nodes Point - part of the Park Resorts group, on the very eastern tip of the island.

It's got the lot - evening entertainment, shop, restaurant, 3 minutes to beach, not too large touring site, newish toilet block, large pitches. On the whole very good. Very good for kids.

We'd go back.

Being an Islander, I have to agree with Mark Mac.

Nodes Point is the best park within walking distance of the beach, which is literally at the end of the touring pitches.

Dont bother with Whitecliff Bay , it has been sold and is in a terrible state.

They have had 3 sets of Wardens this year alone and have had to get in contract cleaners for the toilets as they are so bad.

The new owners have a plan to turn the whole touring area over to statics.

yes nodes point is great we have just returned after spending a week there, we have three boys and they loved it the views were fantastic and minutes away from a beatifull beach, great for crabing, WELL RECOMMENDED!!!!!

That's a shame. We holidayed at whitecliff bay in 06 and 07 and we found it to be a great place to stay the toilet/shower block to be immaculately cleaned. We stayed the last week of July and the first week of August and providing they don't convert the touring field over to statics we'll defo go back again. We are a family of five all kids under 13.

Baldylocks, believe me, you will regret going back.

The wardens when you last went, Steve and Sue left because of the way the new owners of the site are doing things which has dragged the site to its knees.

So far this year there have been 3 sets of wardens who have no idea how to look after a site, and it shows!! like toilets flooding and cascading down onto the childrens play area and lower pitches, just to give you a basic idea.

If you want to come back to the Island and want a site with all that Whitecliff "had", go to Nodes Point, you will not be disappointed.

I emailed whitecliff bay about their touring site and IV been told that away resorts are spending 100k on doing up the touring field over the winter. I have been to a park resorts site in camber sands this year and we all loved it. So at this stage we won't rule out either whitecliff or nodes sites.
