PXd our lightly used 3 year old Elddis last year after the side started falling off and elddis washed their hands of it (it was our fault apparently).
Wouldn't touch an Elddis / Edwin Hymer group product with a barge pole.

Unfortunately it is not unique to Eldiss, one member has had side panel repairs by Swift on a very new caravan. Seems like winning the Lottery gives better odds at times.

I wouldn't be surprised if by this time next year that was not a problem you would ever be faced with again, at least on a new one.

Is there any caravan that one would touch without a barge pole. They are all more or less the same when it comes to quality.
If buying a new caravan it is probably better to buy as soon as possible when the workers are still fresh rather than several months later when they get tired of doing the same job day in and day out. Worked for us!
