JUST BACK FROM CC SITE

We arrived back from Penhrose site in North Wales had a nice time weather very good, however when having a shower on the last day coming out of my cubicle I saw the person that had used the cubicle next to me had left it filthy with some sort of white powder which when wet left foot prints all over the place.

As usual I moped a disinfected mine with the mop and at the same time did the dirty one next to mine

Why do people do something like that the toilet facilities on Caravan Club sites I find to be very good so why is it that people don't care anymore

Or is it me should I just keep my opinions to myself

No John, you are right. This is my pet hate too.
I always clean and mop out the shower cubicle. I have older children too, who come with me to the shower blocks and use the cubicles next to me. I always make sure that theirs is mopped out too. I have been known to mop out up to 3 at a time. It is just common courtesy, which some people unfortunately haven't got.
The Caravan Club has got excellent cleanliness standards. These people that do not bother mopping out their cubicle after use will be the first ones to moan or post a negative review on a dirty shower block.

Hi John
I suspect the white powder is some sort of talc that he shook over all his cracks. The joke is that talc is very bad for the private crack areas blocking up pores etc , leading to a nasty rash.

. I found this out many years ago. On the Docs advice a little smear of Savlon or similar does the job.

I hate those spray anti perspirants, they make me cough. Roll ons all the time

Fortunately most CC members do clean up afterwards but as usual there is always one selfish,rsole

they left it filthy because its a sign of the times we live in a lazy dont care age, it extends right across the board to leaving shopping trolleys in parking bays when the trolley bay is 20 feet away , fit and healthy people parking in disabled parking bays because they are to lazy to walk 20 feet , on a site the other week i saw a dog owner walk a few hundred yards off site and as soon as the dog done its business they started to walk back they did clean it up by the way ,a dog needs plenty of exercise but if you have lazy owners its unfair on the dog , we have a neighbour that drives a few hundred yards to take there kids to school , its not for nothing that we are the fattest nation in Europe

For all you know, the dog owner could have just got back from a 5 mile walk, so why pass a judgement just on face values.

Thank you for all your comments and it is nice to hear the majority of people do care. We have a small dog and I always carry two or three bags with me all the time even if when he does something it is so small it is hard to pick up and when we go out at night I take the torch and spend 5 to 10 minutes searching for it to pick it up.

Back to the showers regardless of cleanliness don't people realise that the person before you through no fault of his own may have a problem with there feet which could be passed on so disinfecting the shower after every use is in there interest as well as your own

Amazing.
Just returned from two weeks at Grin Low Buxton. The walks are quite strenuous and varied eg up to Solomons Temple and through the woods to Pooles Cavern to name just a few. I agree most dogs need plenty of exercise and variance in the territory where they walk. Whilst I was away I'd say 50% of the owners did the right thing the rest as you describe.
Unfortunately most dogs are lazy , like some of their owners and only want to eat or sleep.

No wonder the dog food companies sell so much slimming food. Why not give the fatty beast a smaller portion?

I bet he cleans his shower at home or the wife might have something to say about it !!!!!!
Talc can make the floor very slippy, so he obviously has no thought for the next victim to use the cubicle.

we used to work for the C&CC and some of the things people did in the showers were unbelievable,a couple actually washing their muddy mountainbikes,and when I told them it wasn't allowed they indignantly ask where the sign was forbiding it,how thick can you be.And people who wash dog bedding in the washing machine on site beggars belief.

There's a coincidence. We passed Chatsworth CC on the way to SWMBO birthday treat at Hardwick Hall. Saw the Chesterfield twisted spire too.
Best pub in Buxton was a Punch Tavern version of Weatherspoons, The Clubhouse next to the Opera House. Beer £1.85 and lager £1.99 a pint. Food not bad either.
