Or somebody claiming to be from Microsoft speaking very poor English. Told me i had uploaded some malicious firmware or something and I needed to go to my computer and type something in!
Anyway passed the phone onto my son who knows much more than i do with regards computers who informs me it was some lowlife trying to remotely take over my computer!
The cheeky sod knew my name and indeed our ex directory phone number!

I have just had the same thing, about 20 min's ago, I just put the phone down.
Why do they do this it alt to be against the law.
I think the worst one is the phone rings, you answer and they hang up, my wife is getting suspicious.

They use auto dialer So 10 at a time are rung so 1st to answer gets spoken to other 9 get dead line
Get your self a phone which shows you who's calling so you do not have to answer
