Just had the below from BF concerning an increase in deposits

I’m writing today to confirm two key changes to the way you can book and save with us.

The first is something many of you have requested for some time now, a Journey Planner to find and secure great-value sailings to France and Spain.
A user-friendly tool that will make finding the best ferry fares and holidays easier than ever. You’ll be able to explore our network of routes and ships, compare prices and options with ease, and ensure you pay the best available price every time you book.

The second key change is to our deposit scheme. It’s now 5 years since we launched our Flexi, Standard and Economy/Early Bird ferry tickets and they’ve proven to be a popular development.

I wanted to give you advance notice that the deposits required for Flexi and Standard will change to 50% and 75% respectively from 10 December*. You can book at existing deposit levels until this date as the changes will not impact existing bookings, and we will still offer our best value tickets through the coming year.

Our Holiday deposits will not change and for just a £60pp deposit, you’ll still be able to enjoy a Brittany Ferries Holiday with no need to pay the balance until 30 days before departure, not to mention the 30% saving on the ferry fare when you book accommodation and travel directly with us.

I trust you will find the Journey Planner a useful and time-saving tool for your future bookings.

We look forward to welcoming you on board soon.

I wonder if people will put off booking until the last minute if the deposits increase? We want to book, but the concern is OH who has ongoing treatment at present which will push up any medical insurance. OH should be passed it by Feb next year, but obviously the concern is losing a big chunk of money.

Just to add I did a booking with CAMC and also direct with Brittany ferries. Booking direct with Brittany was over £150 cheaper! Problem with CAMC you cannot see the cost of the cabins for some reason?
