Can anyone tell me whether you can drive staright on to this train without the need to reverse. The instructions are a bit vague,

My husband can't do reversing under pressure ( or at anytime if the truth be told! )

Many thanks, Alison

Joining and leaving the train is in similar fashion to Eurotunnel but not quite as much room! I have only been through the Kandersteg Tunnel with the car and personally felt it was pretty tight. Andrew (Swanseajack) has been through with the van but I have not had the courage. But no reversing!

Hi there Alison

It was about 18 years ago the last time we went through the tunnel and I seem to recall it was ok to load but not a great deal of space to spare. You drive all the way through the train and there was NO reversing to be done. Have a look at these pictures.

Have you thought of going over the pass itself? See my entry for Bella Tola to Verbania.

Happy travels BarryB
