keswick

Are thinking about staying at camping and caravanning site at Keswick. Have read mixed reviews, interested to know what PC readers think, is cleanliness in toilet block an issue? Can anyone recommend any sites in lake district area for caravans and tents, tried Limefitt, lovely site but declining standards for price... Many thanks,

Bailey

Don't know what facilities you need, but there is a fantastic CCC cl at North Dykes Farm near Penrith, about twenty miles from Keswick..Emmerson

Hi there, we too have found Limefitt has gone downhill whilst prices have soared ... I'd hate to make Castlerigg Hall any harder to get into but we love it, fabulous views over Derwentwater and just outside of Keswick.

Have been told the C & CC site at Keswick or nearby is really nice, on the side of a lake (not sure which one) with great veiws. Well worth a visit.

Why not stay about 2 miles out of Keswick at Scotgate caravan park. Views spectacular, walking on the door step, spotless site and the warden insists on helping you into your pitch. two village pubs 3 or 4 minutes away. We love it and keep going back because its quiet and uncrowded like a few other sites around there.

What I would give for a pint of Jenning's bitter right now in the Royal Oak at Braithwaite.
