kia sorento mpg

I have an 04 XS auto and get 30-32mpg driving fairly staedily on a mix of country/A and M roads. Never better than 32mpg though. Towing 1400kg I get 22-24mpg with 24 on French roads. It's been totally reliable and servicing costs are low cf to my last LR Disco Series 2. Try the Kia UK forums which has a lot of technical info and will give you details of any technical issues. There area few that have had Transfer Box problems but these seem to be autos. Manuals are not affected. There have been few recalls (4 i think)and the VOSA or Kia UK forum will show which ones affect which cars. Overall the best tow car I have owned and one which will go off road if required. Done so when I first got it. 75 miles across the Wilts bye ways and Salisbury ranges.

Hi Steve

Look at " uksorento.com". 1700 Sorie members. MPG varies quite a bit.My own figs ae about the same as Clive except towing on a motorway at 55 mph on the speedo, really 50 mph gives us 27/28 .

Mines a July 05 from new. One of the best tugs I've ever had. Been very reliable. First set of tyres lasted 40k. Not bad!!

I am off for a 630 mile trip to Loch Ewe so I'll try the 50mph cruise speed to see waht differenc it makes, as I am getting sensitive to fuel costs and a 1260 round trip is not cheap any longer.

Best towcar Ive ever had mine is 2008 Sorento Titan Auto.In regular driving I get around 30 mpg and towing around 26 mpg.It is a very comfortable vehicle which is fully loaded and of course has the advantage of 4 wheel drive.

With my 56 plate XE auto gets around 20/23 towing. Around town, lots of short journeys about 18 and the best solo was around 30. My average so far this year, having covered 5339 miles of which 3190 have been towing is 22.55mpg.

I have an 05 sorento and the fuel com is horific i tow a lunar

clubman gross weight 1264 kg and am getting between 18 and 23 even on long runs solo i cant get more than 23 mpg 2000 revs

my dealer says that i am mauling the engine because the revs are not high enough how can you strain an auto he said i should keep the revs at around 2500 and 2800 this means driving at speeds that are too high.I am thinking of changing down to a

sportage if i can find the right deal

George I am going to make an assumption that you have a diesel car and not a petrol.

Without having any figures to hand I would say that your own guess of 2000rpm is probally about spot on as most diesels reach max torque around this mark.

If that is your dealer's attitude ask a diffrent one his opinion.

Please also bear in mind the post before your's and their towing consumption is quite like yours but the gearing maybe different if it is a manual.
