huw, we had the 57 plate santa fe cdx7 auto in silver with the black leather and red piping on the seats.

its an amazing car and i can only find one fault there no RDS on the stereo which i thought was a bit mad.

seats 6 + 7 are so easy to put up and down not like the sedona that was that was a nightmare.

we have been using that ultimate diesel and we do seem to be getting more mpg than before with it and its smoother not that it could be any smoother.

i didnt want a sorento because of the service i had with 2 kia garages it was disgraceful.

good luck and keep me posted

Hi Jo-anne

Car dealers can be your worst nightmare, worse I think than caravan dealers!

My Kia garage have lost their service manager to a Merc dealer and since then the service is cr-p. I've had a minor intermittant fault involving the power steering. I knew from my Sorento forum it was the power steering sensor. The dealer said there was nothing wrong according to their stupid computer.

In the end I changed the dam thing myself and all is well.

Once the guarantee runs out all my servicing etc will be done at my friends own one man garage.

How do find the Hyundai garage service?

Cheers

Alan

If you want a lighter weight towcar to tow a smallish caravan the maybe the CRV or the Santa Fe are good buys BUT if you are intending to tow a big van (1750kg+) then you can do no better than the SOrento for the price. I have an 07 XS Auto and get 28-30mpg solo (not bad for the size of the car and 4wheel drive) and 23+ towing a Serling Explorer at 1780kg fully loaded. The good thing for me is that with the auto model I am at about 82% of the car weight and the Sorento really doesnt know the van is on the back, I actually thought about having a rear camera permanently on so as to remind myself.

I know I appear to be in a minority on the Sorento issue, but I bought one brand new in May 06, and the fuel consumption towing was excellent, as every time I towed with it, it completed the majority of the journey on the back of a breakdown truck. I swapped it with only 5000 miles on the clock for something Japanese and reliable.

Hi the only thing I can add about the Sorento is their popularity. See them everywhere I go. In fact we were on a site at Bridgenorth in October and we thought it was a Kia owners rally. Talking to the owners gives the impression they're a great motor for towing. I would imagine in the value for money stakes they're untouchable. If I moved up to a bigger van I'd definitely be tempted.

Best regards

Tomo

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question.I have now purchased a brand new Kia Sorento Titan automatic I have only had it one week so it is to early to give feedback other than to say I got an unbeleavable deal form Sandicliffe Kia in Nottingham the salesman I delt with was called bal so if your in the market for a Kia vehicle you could do worse than give him a ring.It goes without saying I have no connection with Kia or Sandicliffe other than being a satisfied customer.

With regard to the fuel consumption of the sorento i have an 05 2.5 diesel manual with 30thousand miles on the clock and i get around 38mpg solo try a lighter pair of shoes ,you cant have flat out performance and economy it just does not compute.
