Kia Sportage - continental driving-headlamp adjust

Just bought a Kia Sportage. There are no marks on the plastic headlight covers so no idea where to put the black tape. Any ideas before the dealer tries to rip me off?

Thank you

First, read your car owner's handbook and check what type of headlamps you have fitted.

If you have Xenon headlamps, it may mention that you have a manual adjustment lever to flip the headlamps from UK asymmetric pattern to the Europe symmetric (straight ahead) beam pattern.

Importantly you can't mask Xenon headlamps - so it's either flip the lever or speak with the dealership

If you have "standard" Halogen headlamps - then masking the headlamps is an option (but again you may have a dip correction adjustment lever) but if you don't have "guidelines" on the lamps - then it's a good idea to buy the plastic headlamp protectors that clip over the lenses.

These clip-ons usually have the guidelines in place and you can then permanently mask a set for driving in Europe. But again - don't fit a mask if you have Xenon headlamps.
