Kippford Holiday Park, Dumfries & Galloway

We went to Kippford site which is independantly owned, it has it's own website too if you all want a look http://www.kippfordholidaypark.co.uk/output/touring_park.asp

the photos don't do it justice, it's so lovely and peaceful with lots of little hideaways and quite private pitches seperated by bushes and rocks, trees and rabbits!. Lots of wild rabbits hopping around which is lovely to see when you open the blinds first thing in the morning. Lots of red squirrels too which is a lovely sight. The staff are very friendly and helpful, toilets are immaculate and showers hot, the shower, toilet block is heated and is cosy.

I have 3 kids who enjoyed the 2 parks there and the table tennis room, there is a small shop on site too for basics.

We booked a super pitch with water, electric and grey water disposal on site and one of the elsan points is covered and better than a lot i have seen on sites too.

Nearby is the town of Dalbeattie which is ideal for some saturday morning browsing and has many eateries for the evening.

The town og Kippford itself is ideal for boating and a walk along the shore line but only has one wee shop, but again a few eateries. For those who love biking then there is the 7stanes Dalbeattie forest and if you have a dog then the Dalbeattie Town Wood is brilliant for a nice trek and nature hunt with dog and kids.

Back to the site, there is a couple of forest walks from the site at the top which we didn't go on but looked good, woodpeckers can be spotted in there, the site is on a hill surrounded by the forest and it has great forest views.

We sat out on saturday afternoon sipping our coffee and breathing in the fresh scottish autumn air. Lush! The pitches also have use of a picnic bench and bar b q right beside them.
