Can anybody offer any comments on this site ( nothing in searches ) so decided to ask . We are thinking of this site and would welcome any comments or indeed suggestions on sites in Normandy that are good for both adults and children (8 yrs ). We went to Brittany 2 yrs ago , but unfortunatly the weather that year was not kind to us, so decided on Normandy this year, yes its more northern but if weather not good have not driven miles for nothing, and Jersey is out due to excesive ferry costs , shame as we enjoyed our trip 3 years ago. thanks Pip

Pip, we stayed at L Anse du Brick 2 years ago. We did the Potrsmouth Cherbourg crossing and arrived at Cherbourg about t- time. It is about a 10 min drive from the port to the campsite.

The site is layed out in terraces ans the plots are large and hard standing. There are 2 toilet blocks which are kept clean but are not ultra modern.

The swimming pool is a good size and there is a seperate pool with a slide.

There is a restaurant with takeaway and a bar which overlooks the sea.

Just out of the campsite there is a bridge over the road which leads to a bay with a lovely beach, with a gentle slope.

There are tennis courts and an area for ball games etc.

We were on a middle terrace and it was nice and quiet, but at the top of the site the vans were sited much closer together and there tended to be groups of mainly Dutch who liked to party and generally be together.

There is a small shop on site which sells the usual bread and bits n bobs.

The site is used a lot for people going too and from the port so vans tend to come and go at all hours of the day and night. The vans that did only stay for 1 night and that were leaving early in the morning were sited near the entrance so as to not disturb too many people.

All of the Normandy beaches are within driving distance of the site as is Le Mont-St-Michel.

The site was used last year by the Caravan Club for an arranged visit for people who had not been to France before, so if they used it I reckon it must be OK.

We enjoyed the site and would recommend it.

Graeme.
