Can anyone advise which site would be better for dogs? Can you walk from either site? We are thinking of going in July. Both sites look good. Thanking you. Isabel

Stayed at Exmoor House a couple of years ago. Certainly plenty of areas close by to walk, with the edge of the moor easily accessible. There is a large wood just over the river from the site, with several paths through it. Paul

Hi Isabel

We stayed at Exmoor House for the last Bank Holiday, the wet one, the site is good for dog walking off the site as Paul says. Of the two sites EH is close to Dulverton, easy to walk to the town. Lakeside is easier to get to and more open and exposed. EH is mainly hardstanding whereas L has more grass pitches with some hardstandings and I think it has a few all service pitches. It is harder to get to EH as you have to cross 2 narrow hump back bridges and the entrance to the site is through a pub car park.We had to pass Lakeside to get to EH and I imagine the dog walking would be good off site as there is only really a pub and open countryside near the site. Downside to this beautiful area is poor mobile phone signal and TV is poor but OK if you use the hook up,on the bollard. EH can be short of showers at busy times there are 2 blocks but only 2 showers in each.EH also had extremely good wardens when we were there, hope this helps.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the great information. We have been away for a few days hence the late reply. I will have to make a decision shortly.
