Recently used Transmanche from Dieppe - my first crossing with them. There are some differences from other long /medium haul operators which I thought may be of interest to other 'first timers' with LD.
Cabins are OK but without the 'dressing table' arrangement found on Brittany; no drinking glasses are supplied, nor is the tap water defined as drinkable (or not). Food and drink are prohibited in cabins, so in theory you are supposed to go to the cafeteria to take you sea-sickness pills ! There is no obvious means of adjusting cabin temperature. Shower mixer valve furred up and very difficult to turn.
Disembarkation was a bit chaotic with staff seemingly having difficulty segregating foot passengers (who disembark first) from motorists, with the information desk closing up in the middle of the confusion. This also prevented me raising the issues directly on board. I estimate it was 15 minutes after docking before motorists were allowed on the car deck.
LD do not seem to have a UK office and do not seem to publish an e-mail address directly. There is a Comment facility on their website.
The ship 'Seven Sisters' was stable on the crossing (not too difficult as it was flat calm). Catering prices reflected the captive market.
Dieppe port easy to reach without going through the town. Newhaven has some very nasty speed bumps on the exit route - 'van (7m+) grounded more than once and this is with the jockey wheel completely removed.
