We went to this site, within walking distance of Chenanceaux, in May about four years ago. It is by the side of the river Cher. The owners are a British couple who, at the time of our visit were still working on up-grading it, and some of the shrubs and trees were quite small. The sanitary facilities were very good, but it was the first time we had come across the loo-paper dispenser being outside of the cubicles!

The pitches were "open" not enclosed with hedges which meant that it was easy to set up.

Whether it has changed in the meantime I do not know, but it is certainly one that we would return to, if in that area.

Went to this site four years ago. Really liked it, quite a quiet site, good size pitches & nice location. Pretty village within walking distance with lovely bakery selling beautiful cakes!

Owners very friendly. We were reluctant to leave, would be happy to return another time. Supermarket about 10 min drive away.

We stayed at Moulin Fort last year in August for 2 weeks and found it a marvelous site. John and Sarah, the owners, do have rules for the site but that is for the benefit of the Caravanners/Campers and as they say, if you are not happy with it, they will willingly offer you the names of other sites in the vicinity.

The site is very clean and yes, no hedges but plenty of low growing shrubs and trees separate the pitches. The site is quiet at 11.000pm and any entertainment usually stops at or before this time. The site is on a beautiful stretch of the River Cher and plenty to see or do around the area or just stay on site and relax !

They have the toilet roll outside the loos as it prevents people just leaving streams of loo paper around the WC compartments or taking the whole roll ! Yes, it seems a bit strange and possibly embarrassing taking however many sheets you think you might need but you soon get over the hang-up or why not take you own loo paper with you. The girls who clean the loos do an excellent job and are in the toilet blocks at 6 AM to clean them and they are spotless, then they come back in the afternoon and do the same again - it is not the owners of the site that make them dirty - it is the holidaymakers.

There is a good little shop on site and you order your bread and croissant the day before. There is a small bar and restauarant which have speciality evenings etc. and they have occasional live music. There is WiFi on site near the bar area and the children are catered for with a good play area and a play supervisor.

All in all we couldn't fault this site and we are going back again at the end of August with some friends to sample it's delights again. John and Sarah and their helpers are friendly people and it is a loveley site but don't tell everybody !

Regards Alan
