Leaking front windows.

I've just returned from a wet weekend away in Devon where I discovered I have two leaky front windows.

It seems as if the rain is finding its way between the window and the rubber seal and running down to the bottom where it pools and spills into the caravan. It seems as if the windows are not tightening against the rubber seal enough.

Has anyone any ideas to cure this?

Thanks in advance

Malcolm

One of the biggest problems is when you have the windows open, even on night vent setting, dust and airborne grit can accumulate on the window rubbers.

Make sure you clean the rubber and window surface which makes the seal.Using a silicone spray on kitchen roll helps a lot.

Some time ago similar problems were discussed, and some vans seem worse than others.

One solution which one of the makers came up with, can't remember which one now, was to drill a small drain hole in the window rubber from outside, to allow any pooling water to escape.

Malcolm,

I had this problem on our last caravan, a Bailey Senator. Our dealer adjusted the window catches under warranty so the windows closed more tightly. This stopped the leak.

Hi Malcolm, one of my front windows did this (Elddis Crusader Aurora 2006) and my dealer fixed it under warranty. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail so eventually had job done by dealer during annual service. Seems to have resolved itself.

John.
