leaking PDQ

Hi all we are loving our pdq bought last sept but just one question to anyone else who keeps theirs on the side of the van at all times, does the leatherette bag keep holding the water each time it rains, which obviously is very often! Just been out to empty it again tonight??

They say the cotton is supposed to swell and fill the holes, ours has been on the van for approximately 7 months during the period from last September and always comes out wet after rain - and you do get wet putting it up.

I even tried rolling it from the inside of the awning but it makes no difference, I am thinking of using some Fabsil or similar to make the stitching waterproof next time it is off the van.

Hi Brenda. We had a PDQ awning and ours also suffered the same problem of water ingress into the bag, it also leaked when we were using it, so much so that I have recently been in touch with Pyramid products customer care department and I have to say they have been brilliant, after a initial hiccup when I had no reply to my email they have now agreed to exchange our awning for a different type because we were so unhappy with it, nothing seems to be a problem to them.

ours too leaked during the wet weather, [and when we put it up during our last holiday, it is soooo light, it flew up on top of the caravan before we could even blink, boy did we feel daft looking for it all around when it was above us, like something out of candid camera,] back to leaking, we've bought some fabrosil, and sprayed it over the webbing attatched to the bag, see how that goes!!!

Hi Jasper, do you mind me asking where you bought your pdq. I called the cust care num on pdq website and get thru to frontier leisure who were not so helpful. Did you buy from them, i bought from Towsure. Might call them tomorrow. Thanks for the replies folks

Hi Brenda We bought ours at thr Manchester Gmex Caravan show from a company called camperlands, but when we had problems and after reading a previouse thread on here I cotacted Pyramid products direct using this email address, cs@pyramid-products.co.uk, If you don't get a answer whitin a couple of days send it again .Hope this helps.
