leaking tap

Hi all, i have a 2003 Bailey Pageant Loire ,which has developed a bad leak around the kitchen tap . I assume a seal has cracked over the winter .I have taken the top off to see if i can get it appart, and after trying to undo the large nut [ not sure if left or right hand thread ]the whole tap has come lose on its base .Could some one please tell me if there is a repairable seal in the tap body and how, if not do i get access to the bottom of the tap to take it off and replace whole tap .With thanks Graham .

Thanks for your replies but can you tell me if the large nut under the tap lever is left or right hand thread ? i have tried to undo it both ways but it wont shift and now the tap has come loose from the worktop ,so i will probably have to get underneath somehow to tighten it . thanks ,Graham .
