Locker door

I have found water staining on the floor in the base of the wardrobe in my 2004 Swift Charisma.

It appears that this is coming in through the Thetford exterior access door.

I can't see any damage to the rubber seal or any means of adjusting the door.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Over the years we have had this happen and know it happens to others.

The first point is that the hatch must really be close on all its latches ; it's easy for one not to be "made".

However even then it's been known to leak and what I have done is go round all the rubber seal with an old tooth brush lifting off the accumulations of dirt etc that builds up over the years. Pay particular attention to the seal as it runs under the bottom of the hatch, dirt here can help water lift over the gutter ledge in the plastic door frame. [Mirror job checking this bit of the seal] This has worked for me.

Update,

Whilst cleaning the rubber seal as suggested by JTQ it struck me that if I could space the seal away from the inner section of the door slightly it would fit tighter against the frame and seal better.

Several strips of cardboard inserted between the seal and the door has tightened it significantly and after a full watering can of water poured directly over the door doesn't appear to have let any water in.

So fingers crossed - if that remains watertight I'll find something more permanent to space the seal.
