We went on the London Eye in May this year. We stayed at Crystal Palace site. Was really nice and the bus stop to London was just outside. It cost us £5 each per day to travel into London and the ticket included buses, tube and overland trains. We enjoyed 3 days in London doing this. Really recommneded, which is more than I can say for the London Eye which we personally felt was overpriced, too busy - the queues were horrendous even though we pre-booked our tickets. Not worth the money for us, but obviously that is only our opinion.

We stayed at AW some years ago. Senior Management got up early one morning to go to use the 'facilities' but she was back inside a minute. There was a fox sitting close by the 'van and as she walked it followed here right round the van and then sat down outside presumably waiting for breakfast!

Isn't AW now within the CC zone? If so consider Alderstead Heath CC site. It is one of their most attractive anywhere, is quiet and exceedingly well kept, but best of all it is only a 10 min drive to a BR station, or about 20 mins to Merton tube.
