Looking for sites in the dordogne

Hi all, been lots of times to Charente maritime, however looking to go to dordogne with my caravan, for a change.
I usually go to a site where, not only is it nice, but most days I abandon the car, and walk or bike ride.
It would ideal to walk or ride to a centre with cafes and perhaps bars, say within 30-40 mins max.
Any recommendations.

Hi , we stopped at this site a few years ago Ia domaine De Soleil Plage it was a lovely site spacious picthed and a 5 minute walk to the river Dordogne which is where we spent most of our time. Country roads took you to various places on your bikes and is a lovely place to visit and pools are lovely . ( hope this link works )

This one is by a river in Montignac, 10 minutes walk from the town center, pitches of various sizes,

Or this one just outside of Dordogne.

The Montignac site is really nice and Montignac not only being a nice place to visit is well located for many interesting other places without driving miles too. Good choice.

As has been said, La Tournerie is highly recommended.

The guy I knew that used to own it (Phill) retired a couple of years back through ill health. Although I never stayed myself, I have been to the site when staying in that area, and everybody I have spoken to simply raves about it. Had planned to go this year but other commitments put paid to that.

Yes Phil and Wendy moved back to UK but it’s still a great quite relaxing site in a beautiful area. If going take the tracks through the forest to the nearby village and visit La Table de Jean a great little restaurant for lunch or supper. Easy walking, cycling or even by 2cv/Renault van too.

Edit The restaurant/bistro is on tripadvisor and is in Coly, Le Bourg. It’s owned by the top notch Manoir hotel so don’t be put off by the initial photos on Tripadvisor that starts off with the Manoir. However if you have a special occasion or cash left over at the end of your trip Le Manoir is a good place to spend it.
