Loss of Gas Pressure

After a long drive I turned on the gas at the bottle for a nice cup tea only to find virtually no pressure. the largest hob would hardly work at all and the smallest wouldnt boil the kettle.

I have a 2005 van with an in-line regulator and seem to recall stories of these blocking? I removed the pipe and tried to blow through it reconnected it and voila! all OK....any ideas on th cause ????

Most common cause is oil extracted from the hose blocking the regulator, Only solution I believe is to change the regulator. To prevent this happening we got a stainless steel hose from gaslow

Thank for the info, but how will a stainless pipe help to illiminate th oil contamination?

I'm quite happy to buy the pipe but what advantage does it give over the standard rubber one?

The oil is extracted from the rubber pipe by the high pressure gas and the oil collects in the regulator causing the failure. This only affects less than 10% of new vans . with the gaslow metal flexible hose there is no rubber from which the oil can be extracted. If you visit the gaslow web site it has a full explanation of the problem and the remedy.
