Sue,

Look on page 7 of this forum, for past comments regarding Low park Wood, The site itself is contained within a wood .All the pitches are loose gravel, some are very hard to pitch on the due to restrictive places very hilly inplaces bestpitches are down by the river nice and level ,only snag they resemble a large car park.

Royston.

Low Park Wood is quite a good site and has been IMO carefully developed by the CC.

I also beleive this area was used to make gunpowder during the war (plse correct if I am wrong)

Low Park Wood is a great site if you like wildlife and living amongst the trees as we do. We're visiting Blackpool for the illuminations next weekend and decided to stay here rather than Blackpool itself because we enjoy the site that much, its only 50 minutes away. As stated before there are some pitches that are a bit awkward and I think they state on the booking form that caravans over 25 feet are not recommended because of the tight bends round the site.
