We were all Celts many years ago until those Anglo Saxons and Normans invaded this island and drove the Celys west and north. Just to add to all the other Welsh humour - What is the definition of a true Welsh man - An Irish man who could not swim.
should be "Celts west and north."

This is the popularity of the Welsh plus the fact that we are willing to laugh with others about the Welsh. Programme on TV earlier this evening about a team of Welsh dart players - ladies and gents teams - travelled to Kent for a match and lost 23-13. It did not worry them one bit at the end of the session - they took it and accepted defeat.

Colin,

You're not the only Welsh man on the forum, I'm proud of my Welsh heritage, every time I'm asked my nationality & on all official forms I always answer WELSH!

My dear departed dad managed to trace the family tree way back to 1481! he did'nt learn a foreign language (English) until he was 8 years old, & then to trace the family tree taught himself latin as well!

Although I now live in Sussex, I still have family in Swansea, Carmarthen & Pembroke.

Cymru am Byth!

Oh & by the way, to all you foreigners visiting Wales, as you cross the border the sign that says Croeso a Cymru, doesn't mean welcome to Wales, it means, Switch your wipers on now!

George I do not profess to be the only Welsh person on this forum - there are quite a few of us and more are joining on a regular basis. Before long we could, with mods. permission, set up a Welsh page on this forum for us Welsh and all things Welsh. No person who cannot prove their heratage to Wales will be allowed to post on this page.

Colin,

George is the "family" christian name given to the first born son in our family, the other christian names are Wynford & Thomas & I have a brother Gwynfor & we share the same surname of the gentlemans statue at the castle end of Cardiff's pedestrianised main street, is that proof enough of my heratage?

Hey if there's more than 1 of us, how about forming a choir?

Remember. keep Wales tidy, dump you rubbish in England!

Time for a Welsh Song I think, Hope you are all singing.

We'll keep a welcome in the hillside

Far away a voice is calling,

Bells from memory do chime

Come home again, come home again,

They call through the oceans of time.

Well keep a welcome in the hillside.

Well keep a welcome in the Vales

This land you knew will still be singing

When you come home again to Wales.

This land of song will keep a welcome

And with a love that never fails,

Well kiss away each hour of hiraeth

When you come home again to Wales

I do know a really crude joke about a valleys woman and a vicar, but it is not suitable for printing.

Come on change it a little, I'm sure we will be able to make it out. Or print it in Welsh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

You from the valleys to then Mel

Val & frank

Article in Friday's Daily Mail that the porpoises off Newquay in west Wales are whisleing in Welsh. we have some wonderful talent in Wales. Mind you they also reckon that the cows in Somerset are mooing with a west country accent. Now how the heck can they make us believe such bunk? I am surprised at the best of the tabloids printing such nonsense.
