Hi, we're VERY new, and we want to join the fun.

Researched and researched and believe a triple bunk & dinette is style for us.

We've seen many... but we cant find a Lunar Quasar 546 in 2009 model... anyone know where we can view one.

Any comments and experience of this model welcome

We are in Berkshire

Many, many thanks in advance!

Hi M,

I looked at one of these, in the end opted for Bailey GT60 540-6,only reason was availability at the time, has same layout. I think the Lunar has a bigger bathroom than mine (seperate shower)but the Lunar is still a good lightweight tourer.

We looked at one of these before we got our Pageant S7 Bretagne.

One thing to check is to try lying on the front double bed with the chest in place. We found it too tight and as the chest is the TV point it would be too much of a pain to move every night.

The separate shower is a worthwile improvement over the 540/6 Bretagne washroom.

Was the bed impossibly small - we have a king size at home, which is 5ft, so thought we might manage.

We are talking to a seller with this van which is a huge trek just to go see if we dont like look of it. Otherwise it ticks all the boxes especially with good kitchen plan, separate shower and triple bunks.

Just worried about this short sofa!

M

We found the bed small, the bed sizes quoted in the brochure (and also in Practical Caravan's test) are with the chest removed.

From memory (we were looking about 18 months ago) it was a couple of bolts to move the chest, but we felt that was not what we wanted to do every night, especially if you had to move the tv too.

Neither of us are small, but we are fine in a 4'6" bed at home (and also a 4'6" fixed bed in our current caravan). My OH felt she was pressed against the chest and did not want to wake up with bruises every morning, so that ruled the van out for us.

The van is also quite narrow (7'1" compared to a Pageant S7 at 7'6") so weighing all things up we went for a Pageant S7 Bretagne. However in use we found the bathroom too small, so we have now bought a Pegasus 524 fixed bed caravan, but we only have one child, so a fixed bed is viable for us. We only got the triple bunk van to give our daughter a playroom, but as we found the bathroom too much of a compromise, she'll have to play in the rain (only kidding!!)

The van suits plenty of people so perhaps it is just us, but make sure you try before you commit.

the 2010 quasar 546 has longer front bench seats and hence a bigger double bed. This was the clincher for us. We are having a fold down tv shelf installed on the side of the wardrobe along with a socket and tv point, so we dont have to have the tv on the front chest. This arrangement works great in our current quasar 525. Pic the van up this sat. Best of luck with your search
