Mains connection when hitched

Hi People

I have just come in from the pouring rain where I have been preparing for an early start in the morning (Birmingham to Hythe in Kent). I have hitched 'van onto car and re-connected the mains lead to operate the fridge. I know that when connected, the car battery over-rides the 'van's leisure battery but I am concerned that the 'van's battery charger will be charging the car battery and not the leisure battery.

Any comments please.

Thanks.

Alan B

That shouldn't be the case for two reasons Alan, firstly the switch in your 'van will be set to use the 'van's battery, thus disconnecting the car battery from the circuit, and secondly because the relay in your car will disconnect in the same way.

Agree with Craig, but if you have any doubts, disconnect your 12S plug till you are ready to move off. You will, of course???, do a check on all these things before moving off and re-connect the correct plugs.
