Anyone going next weekend? We are going on Saturday, just for a day out. Tickets rather more reasonably priced than the nec. I see our Nigel is doing a talk. Unfortunately it is the graveyard slot at 5.00 so we may have have shoved off by then. I hope to try the "towing experience" as the thought of towing terrifies me (may not have mentioned this in my woosie credentials) This is quite ridiculous as I am an intelligent and able woman so it is about time I overcame it.

Has anyone been to "event city" before. We usually take a picnic to the nec as the catering is both dire and expensive. Will probably do the same again unless anyone has info to the contrary.

Hi Mel.

Sorry we not going to Manchester, but are going to Glasgow. Go ahead and try the towing experience, its not as hard as you think.

Thanks Dougie. I am comforted by the idea that towing couldn't possibly be as hard as I think it is.

If you google the trafford centre on google maps, & look for J9 M60. .
You will see that it is only a few mins walk from (event city) via a coverd walkway between the trafford centre & barton square
Hopefully we will be going on Sunday & parking in the trafford centre car park,
& we will call in The Orient food court for something to eat before we go across the road to event city.
There are quite a few restaurants to choose from........

As for the towing experience, go for it my wife did it at the NEC just to get some experience of actually driving with a van on the back...

We dare not go!! we'd end up with a new van a year or two early if Lawns was anything to go by so would then have to cancel the car at the last minute!! Used to go to London and pop out to eat then go back in as the cost of food was silly! Can't remember what we did for food when we were on the owners club stand at the NEC? I think as we had a hearty cooked breakfast and took a snack to nibble on the move then ate later??

Thanks for the info re catering. Probably take a standby sarni instead of the picnic hamper. Couldn't get a pre bookable slot on the towing experience so will have to try and get one on the day, if I don't woosie out. Ah well Tena Lady on standby.
