This sounds similar to a problem I (and others) have had with the large centre front window panel. The explanation I was given is that wind buffetting while towing causes the inner and outer panes to rub together, resulting in internal scratching or misting. Whether this is true or not I don't know, but the dealer replaced the window of our Indiana under warranty with no questions asked. We haven't towed much since, so waiting to see if it happens again.

Hi Ed,

we are waiting for a replacement front window on our Swift challenger 540 under warranty. It seems that a batch of windows were faulty causing the panels to flex and touch together making a mirror image mark inside on both. Does that sound like the problem you have?

We heard that Swift were not the only vans to be affected.

Richard, How on earth do you get these bungs out.J.Lo
hi j lo, with great difficulty! in the end a pair or long nosed pliers but do be careful as you can pull the little bit out the middle, my wife also used her nails.

hope this helps

hello,

not sure its a mirror image, i will have another look in daylight, it looks annoying though, the bigger image is on the side one, but the middle is affected also, its only been towed twice, will let you know.

yes it is to do with the wind pushing the outer and inner glass

together, the ONLY option is to change the complete assembly

i am not the ranting paul that was on before

if the van is only 7 months old, the windows need changing, if they are polyplastic windows they apparently have a problem

normally the large front centre is the worst and them the two smaller ones at the front because of the pressure of wind on them

The ghostly immage between the panes in your windows sounds exactly like those of my Steling Elite Searcher central windows which I spotted the first time of use. The swift dealership is replacing them under guanantee and informs me that Swift have changed over 100 already. It is a product fault. Do not be fobbed off with excuses about plastic rubbing together whilst travelling, it should not happen. Have them changed, make the manufacturers pay more attention to Quality Assurance. Joe

It sounds to me as though you have condensation between the two panels. This is a common problem at this time of year and we get it every year on our 2006 van. It is perfectly normal as the double glazing is not sealed on caravans and it will disappear after a while. We don't bother removing the bunts although doing so could result in a quicker remedy.
