I am thinking of booking a Premier Pitch here. Has anyone been and what is it like. The park and the pitchs.

I was on this site a couple of years ago and I would never go back even if it was free for two weeks. There was a lot of trouble with travelers. They had paid for one night and then they would not leave the site. There was an incident when I was there where someone was threatened with a knife. This can happen anywhere but I was appalled.
Even at the entertainment there were supposed local teenagers coming onto the site and causing fights in the amusement part of the entertainment.
These are my personal experience and I actually left the park days before I was supposed to because I just could not take any more. There were four or five families that went and asked for a full refund due to the trouble.
I found it expensive and it was my first time away in the van for two weeks so I stuck with it until I couldn't take any more noise or trouble and we left before we were supposed to.
As I say this is my personal experience and maybe someone will come back with more positive views.

If this is Marton Mere haven site you are talking about dont bother.
We were there last weekend, we booked a premier pitch but our caravan would not fit on it to big, all the premier pitches were taken.
We had to go on an electric hookup pitch.
If you have an awning to put up you may have promlems there, the ground is not straight.
Not very well lit.
Drains also smelt.
Toilets not clean.
Dont waste your money find somewhere else.

Agree with all bad comments re martin mere. could go on and on and we were only there for three nights a few years ago. facilities dreadfull. we sent a two page letter of complaint,obviously nothing has changed. tho they did offer us a free week we declined. pitches not at all level and grass not well kept at all weeds everywhere. first impressions going in thro the statics were good but what a let down big time. STAY AWAY.
Just come back from this site and would never go back again. The noise was unbelievable well into the night, with a large number of youths roaming free and getting into all sorts of mischief. There are many local sites nearby which must be much better than this site and considerably cheeaper.
There is a club site about four miles nearer Blackpool than Marton Mere, can't remember the name.
Marton Mere is no different than any other Haven site in that they are not interested in tourers. So the playpark etc is a fair distance away. If you can handle that you'll be fine.
I've been once in October and once in July. I found no problem with the pitches other than water lying after heavy rain.
There was some problem this summer with noise in the early hours but don't forget you're not the only one on holiday!
I did have a visit from what was certainly a traveller, showing unwelcome interest in my caravan, but he took my friendly advice not to return.
