Have anybody towed a Bailey louisiana our simalar with this car at present use a disco would like to change caravan club say it is tight on weight and nose weight have been caravaning for 6 years and always used there service.Any advice would help mpg etc looking at a 2003 with 60000 to 80000 miles on the clock just travel with my wife and two dogs.

I am towing 1600KG on a single axle with a E280CDI Estate and it is just fine. I dont know the weight of your Bailey but unless it is a lot heavier I dont see the problem.

Bye the way I believe that generation of E class was not MB greatest hour with lots of electrical gremlins that were fixed around 2006

We towed with an E320 estate for several years with not a problem, we now tow with an 2007 E280 another great towcar. Our previous van was 1500 kg as is the present one - we can tow with no effort whatsoever over mountains etc. Doesn't even seem to notice steep hills.

I would say go for it.
