I had the pleasure to get a demonstration in a Mercedes Benz 115 Vito Traveliner. It was a great 8 seat vehicle with so much room I took the 3 rear seats out and used that room to put a cage big enough to take a German Shepherd a BBQ a couple of scooters and many other bits and bobs needed for a long weekend break. The 150 bhp was impressive and the fuel usage at about 23 MPG whilst towing and 33 MPG without which for a big vehicle was great. Very Comfortable to sit in for a fairly long journey. We also easily fitted 2 TV screens on the front seat head rests and plugged the portable DVD in for the kids. The Vito has solid positive steering and ESP 2 as standard an electronic stability program which makes this vehicle one of the safest on the road.

If you want practicality, space , power, stability, and of course safety and comfort you will be well pushed to beat this very versatile vehicle. Thank you Western Commercial in Glasgow for the use of your demonstrator

they do have loads of room inside but as has allready been stated you would expect room from a converted van.

I would not get too excited about the car though as 33 mpg solo isnt really that good these days and is easily beaten by the vw and ford varients, my experiance of these vehicles is based on having a veto van for a few months when i was in the refrigeration industry i had the van on loan to try out as a replacement for the companies fleet of toyota hi aces, i absolutely hated the van after only a few days it was absolutely gutless with a load on board and very unstable in cross winds. in the end the company bought a fleet of vw transporters which where much better vehicles.

Another company who supply road transport to the railways for crew movements had a contracter who had a fleet of vito people carriers all where top of the range with full leather etc and all proved to be un reliable and un impressive on the road, the drivers hated them often tried to get in early to get the transits or honda vehicles, the company now has nothing but honda frv's.

It is a nice looking car but its too expensive too un reliable and judging by the relative scarcity of them on the road (ive never seen one towing) id say not very popular which will effect residules.

Isnt ESP pretty much standard on most cars these days ? i know most of mine have had it.

would i be right in assuming people are maybe getting mixed up with the old and new version, and are judging the old version, front wheel drive versus rear wheel drive.a friend of mine in Ireland has one,and i must admit it is impressive the few times ive drove it.this is a 5 seater, with all the toys on it.

My daughter and son in-law have a 3 litre CDI extra long wheel base Viano. It's their third and has Brabus upgrade, all three have been reliable. It's used as a mobile office and family car as well as tow tug. Tows Senator with ease and swallows family and luggage unlike many other people carriers.
