Brum,

You replied to one of my earlier messages regarding sites in the vendee.

Have looked at la yole. Can you answer a couple of questions for me please.

how far is the beach

is it within walking distance?

what is the nearest town?

is that within walking distance?

The answer to your questions are

1...It is about 1 mile from the beach and if youu can walk a mile then it is in walking distance.

2...Nearest town is St Jean De Monts and I would quess that is about 4 miles away (walking as above.

Any more help...you anly need to ask.

PS.. I crossed the Channel Dover to Calais and drove the 438 miles in a day.

Sorry about the delay in answering but I have been off line during the weekend.....The last weekend in the van till new year, roll on Dec 28th

We stayed at La Yole for the last 2 years.

We were there in June each time when it was quiet, so dont know what it is like in high season, but off season it is a lovely site.

This year they were replacing touring pitches with statics. At the rate they are going the only tourers will be with Key Camp or Euro camp.

Last year we crossed Poole / Cherbourg return. This year we crossed Plymouth / Santander, drove up through France & crossed Cherbourg / Poole.

thank for the info, very helpful. Still not sure what site to choose. I wanted le clarys plage but you can't book the site and i don't fancy risking travelling all that way and then not being able to get booked in
