MG

According to the internet they are the most unreliable car in the UK, when Mitsubishi left Europe MG were assigned as caretaker manager for Mitsubishi, we were having some warranty work to the central screen on our Mitsubishi at the MG dealership, there was several customers in the showroom making some serious complaints.

The 7 year warranty read the small print apparently very misleading.

If that’s the case they are in good company alongside some very expensive cars too. But Carwows survey doesn’t feature MG. Perhaps the longer warranty doesn’t see many buying Warrantywise policies.

The MG warranty doesn't cover a courtesy car - and some warranty repairs are protracted due to lack of parts - months in some cases.

The differing original length of warranty will clearly affect any statistics from aftermarket warranty providers. Those reliability surveys can be misleading - they often just use the ÂŁ cost of repairs which ignores the fact that cheaper cars have fewer and cheaper parts

My daughter's six month old MG hybrid went into safe/limp mode then stopped all together. The MG Assist was AA and the car was recovered to the dealership she bought it from. They gave her a courtesy car (the top spec demo) and less than 24 hours later her car was fixed. It was an emissions sensor fault. These things do happen as I had emissions sensor failures on both my XC70 and Sorento.
