Very entertaining thread everyone Don't have problems with mine and even if I did I would stick with them as the most stable and wind resistant mirrors I have ever had - going back to when you used to fit extension arms to the wing mirros (towards the front of the wing) on cars like Ford Cortina.
 
My first pair of towing mirrors clipped onto the wheel arch and the top of the engind compartment, probably the most stable mirror I have had. My Millencos the Grand , are good at speeds upto about 40 mph and then slowly get blurry upto 60.
But strangley are ok at 70mph, but only in France, maybe it's the Garlic in the air, well it's good for the heart.
 
And back on topic, I took them apart today and used a silicon spray instead of grease and it appears to have done the trick. Time will tell but fingers crossed.
