Hi Carl

I got a good tip from Graham earlier today. He suggested I try whattowcar.com. It was a great help. Matched the car I was thinking of buying with my Bailey Ranger. Its worth a try.

Good luck

Carl, i had a 1.8 mondeo estate(not zetec) the weight was not a problem towing a small swift challenger, but it was so underpowered i burnt the clutch out rapidly (

Carl, it's very different handling a trailer which only imposes 4-7% of it's weight on the tug compared to artics which impose up to 40% of the trailer weight onto the tug. Caravans, with their weight distributed around the periphery are inherently unstable compared to other trailers.

If you've towed caravans before, then 95%+ may be fine but otherwise 85% is a good starting point even for experienced HGV artic drivers.
