Mondeo Traction

Does anyone have the same problem with their mondeo?

I have a 54 plate 2.0 TDCI. During the recent cold snap when ever i pull away on a slight incline i seem to slide everywere.

The other day reversing into my drive which is downhill i rolled over a lump of snow about the size of a dinner plate, that was it, slid all over the place.

Does anyone else have this problem or am i doing something wrong.

The car pulls the caravan fine - it is a bit of a struggle out of the drive but after that it is fine.

thanks

Could be something as simple as tyre choice, some give better grip in different conditions than others.

"hard to pull off" If your car is the 130 bhp 2.0 tdci, then first and second gear, do not give you all the power [torque] they could, it is limited slightly to protect the gearbox

Hi Gill.

I have an 06 Mondeo. Its a 2.2 TDCI and with all this snow weve had recently,i was really surprised at how stable the car felt in the ice and snow especially pulling away from traffic lights and junctions.

The ESP usually cut in which i suppose did help also.

As you said,it pulls our van perfectly,its roomy,comfortable andsurprisingly economical too(42-48 mpg)solo.

I had the rear springs replaced with heavy duty ones too which i found helps with towing.
