hello campers can anybody tell me what it is like going through the mont blanc tunnel in the beginning of august, is there a good time to go through,is there a time to avoid,is there any campsites that could be recommended for an overnight stop nearby. many thanks
 
Don't know about campsites but you could have to queue a long time for the tunnel at the beginning of August. To get a quiet time I would think you'd have to go at night. We waited for about an hours and a half which by all accounts was not very long at all. Its a long drive through with plenty of rules to keep you occupied including speed and distance restrictions.
