I don't post often on this forum, but I can't let this thread go without adding my two penny worth.

I'm saddened by the attitude that some of you have towards people who are Gay in your responses to the original posters post. I also find some of the assumptions (and that's what they are) about Gay people offensive.

And can I add, I do agree that this survey is a pile of donkey doo and a waste of time probably.

My Partner and I have been together for over 10 years, we both work, pay taxes (I could argue to support children that we will never have), pay through the nose for our Council Tax etc, just as you all do. We also enjoy caravanning..........just as you do and I expect we also enjoy many hobbies as you do.

I work for a charity that helps low paid workers in the South West and also helps people who have got in to financial problems in one way or another...........so I do my bit for 'Society' in general.

The big difference is.............yup, I'm Gay..........well, big deal.

Please people...............get over it!!

Rant over - I'm off for me dinner!!!

Love it, Dave!

Unlike some, I'm more than happy to laugh at myself, I'm pleased to say!!!

Oh..........and as to the twonk who reckons he can spot a dog that belongs to someone who is Gay........I have a VERY hetrosexual Labrador, thanks. Only difference is, he is likely to ask before mounting yer leg, 'cause he has been brought up properly!!!!!!!

Martin,I think you can tell I'm not anti-gay - those who are probably wouldn't know how to respond to your post - and I'm glad you accepted it in good spirit cos that's the way it was intended.

Unfortunately, my sense of humour got the better of me and the mods have removed it because of one word.

That one word WAS the joke! There is no other way of getting a laugh from it without that word!

It was not meant to be offensive as I'm sure you know,Martin.

A wee bit hasty this time Mr. Mod, I feel.

Martin you obviously didn't read the whole chat between myself and Lisa on that one. I was actually trying to get her going on a dog subject which I succeeded in :O) It was actually a joke that was told by Paul O'Grady sometime ago.

Hi LB......I'm loving the name by the way (no sexual inuendo implied, you understand!)

As I put in my post, I think that the planned survey is a total waste of money - I could answer the question as to why people come to this country..........it's called 'opportunity' and I don't want to start a long and boring diatribe on that, either.

EVERYONE is welcome to put their own views on any given subject and I've just given mine, that's all.........

We live a very quiet and ordinary life - my Partner is 6ft 3inch tall demolition supervisor, so I'd better say that I lead a quiet life - We are just an ordinary couple who do ordinary things, just like any other ordinary couple............with just that ONE difference.

Both being the wrong side of 40, the child business is a no go for us, but I wish those who wish to persue that avenue all the luck in the world - regardless if they are Hetro or Homosexual.

I appreciate your views, LB, but I am allowed to have mine too!!

Good friends of ours are a lesbian couple who have been foster parents for years . A few years ago the adopted their son and you could not meet a happier , more well adjusted ,polite boy. Their son is my youngests best friend and they regularly take him out with them . Funny thing is neither of my boys ,or other friends have ever mentioned the fact that J**** has two "mums"

Thankfully the younger generation seem to be more tolerant these days .

I have worked with homosexual/lesbian colleagues and also foreign people. Whether the foreign people are homosexual/lesbian I would not have a clue. My point is that whereas I say live and let live is acceptable why the hell waste so much of tax payers money on a report which the majority of people will not be interested in, not even know if it has been completed or even bother to read it. I think this Government has to realise where its priorities lie in order to satisfy the majority population of the country and not be influenced and dictated to by either the fringe fraternity or the EU. Who are the fringe fraternity? - the looney left head bangers.

Have watched this thread skirt around the edges of acceptability with several posts almost becoming abusive.

However 2 new posts at the end of Tuesday contained more comments which could be taken personally, so I removed them and must now ask you to post no further in this thread.
