My caravan is fitted with the standard Powrtouch Freedom mover with the cross activation bar.
I went to move the caravan from the side of the house, put the handle on the hexagon and located the roller onto the wheel ….BANG …. the cross activation bar sheared.
The bar is approx 10mm diameter and would seem impossible to shear by a basic turn of the standard supplied wrench.
Luckily the component appears to be easy to replace and I can activate the movers independently.

It’s usually the pins going through to connect the break. I replaced them with cap head screws with a locking nut on the threads.

Ours sheared many years ago.
Counted it as a blessing in disguise as it was a pretty hefty piece of metal. Sold the bar for scrap and allowed a few more kgs of payload, win win 👍

Or it could be the gap is set too narrow especially if the tyres have been recently changed.
Mine was too narrow and was so tight that I put a slight twist in the engagement lug putting them on.
My rod is square and the pins are actually 6mm bolts so plenty strong enough
All adjusted now (19mm gap) but I had to buy a new handle (10 quid) and put a crank in it as on the N/S the handle hits the ground before they lock on.

Movers are 7 years old and only problems have been of my own making Duhhh
