Hi. Has anyone changed the rollers on a truma motor mover (the grit type). Looking at them it looks pretty straight forward. I assume that you remove the bolts from the end plate then remove the plates and slide the roller off of a spline. I have been looking to see if there is a company that re-coats them but cant find any also have not found any grit covered ones for sale but saw a pair of alloy ones which are supposed to be a straight swap. Can anyone point me to where I can purchase a pair.

Thanks. Martyn.

Hi Martyn

Yes, I changed the rollers on our Truma original motor mover. It is a real five minute job only. As you say, you just have to give the two bolts each side a squirt with easing oil, wait a few minutes then undo the triangular black plate that holds the roller in place, swap the roller for a new one and bolt it back up.

The only problem is that these rollers for the original mover are getting rare and the cost seems to be climbing. I notice that Waudbys are listing them today at

Martin has astonished me with the price of new rollers for the Truma original. This has made me think that when mine need replacing I think will try to re-grit them. It can't be that difficult. I'd use a good quality epoxy resin adhesive and something like small decorative horticultural grit.

Ideally the best way to re-line them would be to have the old coating shot blasted off, that will leave you a nice clean & course surface for you to start you re-coating project...

I would try a Chemical/Heat Resistant Resins & mix some Course Carborundum Grit in with the resin & then re-coat

Before you can apply the resin, the rollers will require cleaning with thinners, any oil or contamination and the resin will not adhere to the area, even the oil from your fingers will cause a problem :
