Motorhome roof dented by hail!

2nd post today by this newbie but keen to see if anyone has experience with the same.
Last June we took a 3 week trip round the Tarn Gorge area and were lucky enough to have great weather most of the time.
However one afternoon a hailstorm hit us big time - we were parked up luckily but the noise inside was deafening, 1cm diameter hailstones were knocking leaves off the trees. We took a video of it at the time and forgot about it until last night when I got up on top to give it the first proper wash since our return.
Amazed to see the entire roof area peppered with small dents, each one big enough to hold a tiny puddle of water.
Moho is of decent quality, being a 2010 A class Burstner Aviano 675 and my quandry now is whether to involve the insurance company (who may well give me a 2 finger salute and call it an act of god) or just leave it alone.
Worried that the repair would actually involve stripping off the entire roof, which could lead to leakage problems in the future and the downside of not having it repaired being when we sell it and the presumed loss of value.
Anyone had a similar experience?

A couple of years ago there was a freak hailstorm in Hinckley which damaged a lot of motorhomes and caravans. This is one of the several stories about insurance claims which Google brings up.
So, insurance companies do pay out if damage is caused by an insured risk, such as bad weather. Act of God clauses are actually a myth.
If it were me I think I should be contacting the insurance company.

It is not only Motor Homes that suffer, my nearish neighbours here in the Dordogneshire were unlucky enough to have their pair of recent cars damaged by hail, The Insurance co paid up new for old and wrote the cars off, You will now see why Hymer offer a Plastic roof instead of good old ally............
