:cheer: As a long term caravanner, and have been for 15 years plus,my current unit is a 1994 Isuzu Trooper 3.1 Turbo Diesel SWB with a Swift Challenger 1992 490/5 SE
I have recently purchased a Motorised Jockey Wheel to assist in getting the van up my drive as has a slight slope so Rear of van will bottom out if Reveresd by vehicle.
The problem I found with the mover is that if you have an "Inboard" mounted jockey wheel you have to remove the "A" Frame cover first. So undeterred I contacted the mover manufacturer to see if a kit was available to fit to front of "A" Frame and connect to the tow hitch via 50mm ball,I was informed that this kit is no longer manufactured. After hearing this I decided to get my tape measure out and drew up a workable plan and design for a bracket.
Still determined to make this work,I checked around to see if I had any scrap metal, after finding 2 old 18inch mower blades, and some angle iron,I decided to get the Angle Grinder and MIG Welder out.
After 3 days of cutting and grinding I have finally made the bracket I need to fit the mover to the Tow hitch, the bracket made can be removed after use, just leaving a support bracket fitted to the underside of the "A" Frame, thereby allowing the caravan to be towed as normal and not leaving the mover attached.
If any other members are using these movers, namely "Bigfoot" and "Euro-move" and have the same problem I would be interested to hear as I may be able to help, the bracket manufactured will fit any 48mm Jockey Wheel,as I know these movers require a 48mm Clamp.
You can contact me via email, please ask moderator for my email address and I will reply,
Many thanks.
