I've wondered what your tow car is as I think your MPG figures would scare a few people.

We tow with a 3rd generation Toyota surf 3litre turbo diesel,and yes the mpg scares me, but it tows so well with a 1700kg caravan.

What an enjoyable read. It reminds me of a tour I did last year through France and Spain.

Your MPG is terrible! We average about 29-32 mpg with a 2.0 TDI 4X4.
