N.ireland sites

Hi all, I keep my van on a permanent site from Easter to end Sept, Will be taking it home shortly and was wondering if anyone could recommend a touring site in N.Ireland in an around Rostrevor/Newcastle area still open. And suitable to entertain 3, children one 15, 12, 4. Thanks for any advise.

Sean.

Hi Sean,

Have you tried Castlewellan forest Park or Kilbroney forest Park I think they both stay open to the end of October. Castlewellan is close to Newcastle and Kilbroney is close to Warrenpoint. A few N Ireland caravanners have organised a meet in Carnfunnock at the end of Sept and another in Castlewellan for Halloween you would be welcome to join us. Check out the details on www.carryoncamping.org

Hi Sean, add Tollymore forest park to your list, approx. two miles from Newcastle and open all year. Better site pitches than Castlewellan. To entertain the children just drive into Newcastle and they will find enough to do even if the weather is bad. As a matter of interest what permenant site do you use for the season?

Have a look at http://www.murloughcottage.com lovely site, well run. The touring part has a small play area for young kids in the centre of the touring pitches and a large play area and pool room type thing for older kids. In walking distance of newcastle. Fantastic site.
